GripTec/GripX scale material?

I'm having a custom fighting knife made up here, and the maker's go-to material is GripX. It's essentially rubber flecks suspended in resin.

I can't seem to find many reviews comparing it to other materials. I am specifically wondering if GripX scales left untextured would provide as much grip as G10 or Micarta with aggressive texturing. I am hoping for a thinner, flat handle that is grippy when wet.

Can anyone provide some insight? Thanks for looking.

It is excellent stuff. David Mary uses it frequently on the knives he makes.

If you need lots of grip, I would still recommend some texturing on the handles.

Combined with the great ergonomic handle shape , works wet or dry on this little DMC . David Mary

Texture / grooves etc are always going to add stickage , but can be rough on hands . Cold Steel Kraton e.g. .
