Just ordered one and got email saying 2 week delay (boo). In the meantime, can any of you guys regale me with griptilian tales of excellent service to tide me over?

I am a full time LEO and carry a 550 as my duty knife. It is very ergonimc, locks up like a vault. I have found it have a good corrosion resistance, and easy to sharpen. I carry it because it is a decent knife that I don't care to use. It is also more easily replaceable than many other knives. I think the Griptilian is the best buy in its class.

I haven't broken mine yet...
...and I'm trying to!
It's been my work edc for 9 months now, and I beat the ever living crud out of it.
It's been sharpened once a month whether it needed it or not on a lansky, then final touch up on a 204.
Spray it down with WD-40 and hit it with an airgun once every other week.
440c takes a wicked sharp edge.
Flicks open faster than a snot shot in a farm field.
When this one dies, I'll get a 551 to replace it. I think I might like the thumb studs better.

This is great working knife, Denis is quite right – one of the best buys (if not the best) in its class.

Please look carefully – it is a paragon of technical elegance, very well-thought-out design and engineering, no one redundant gram of metal, plastic or anything else.

Note: don’t take apart yours, this will void your warranty.

I have the 556 "mini" and I don't think this baby is EVER gonna break;
I think Benchmade's warranty will cover everthing short of outright abuse.:) I've had NO TROUBLE with
my 556 & recommend the Griptillian
( next to Spydies ;)) for the BEST
in an EDC blade. You'll NOT regret
your's!

AET ;)

I absolutely love my BM556, the Guys at work always want to check it out too after I flick it open. It really is a easy-to-use and great knife all around.
