Has any one here ever tried to smooth down the dimples on the grips of a griptilian with sand paper or other materials in order to make them more hand and pocket friendly? My 550 has a black handle and the dimples on the handle have started making my hand sore with a lot of use. I thought of useing sandpaper to smooth them down some but I don't want to ruin the knifes appearance. If you have tried this, how did it work.? What type or grit or sandpaper did you use and did you deem it a success? I would really appreciate some help on this. Thanks, tjweeks

Never used sand paper on my Grips but my older EDCs are very smooth in hand so it will wear down in time. The positive "grippiness" is one of the benefits of the Griptilian handles IMO. Light, tough and grippy=Griptilian.

I used a Dremel grinding wheel to smooth down the scales of my ZT0200. Not the same knife, I know; but those handles were wrecking my pockets.
That knife shot to the top of the pile; and was almost exclusively carried for about 2.5 yrs. (It's still the most carried; but I've recently started giving a few others pocket time)

Here it is, next to a new one (tip your head to the right when you look at the bottom one - it makes the pattern jump more, lol)

Used sandpaper on others but not my Mini Grip.

Visually, it knocked off the glossy finish to a more flat with a hint of gray. Made them more grippy.

Try 320~400 in an inconspicuous spot like the bottom edges.

If you want to proceed, step up to 220 then follow up with 320-400--600.till it feels 'right' to you. Don't go lower than 220, it'll remove too much. (I used 100 on my hard-use fixed blade scales but it's way too coarse for an EDC folder, IMO.)
