Wondering if the Grip has a "ramp" like tang that allows the lock bar to squeeze into the tightest position or not. Basically Im wanting to know if the system will remain tight when the lock bar and liner become worn over time. thanks much

The lock face is at a slight angel, I've had mine for a 5-6 months and a couple thousand open close cycles and I'm yet to have any play. :)

There's some gap built in between the lockbar and the rear-most section of the blade tang so as it wears it still locks up. I've never heard of one getting to the point that it doesn't lock up anymore. These parts are fairly thick, hardened steel.

I've never heard anyone say anything bad about an axis lock. It is considered one of the best locking mechanisms ever designed. I don't have long term experience with one but by what I have read, a griptilian will last a life time.

Amen to all of the above. It's designed to adjust for wear, but I have yet to detect any after thousands of cycles on any of my Axis locks.

The axis lock work very well. No problems and I have had many of the Benchmade knives over the years.

I abused a 710 and Adamas... The axis lock is absolutely amazing. . . Its the only lock in trust in heavy use. Buy one and I guarantee it will last you forever. Provide screws don't falls out and not subjected to crazy abuse. In my opinion, frame and liners are a long stretch behind...
