So I was looking into getting another Griptilian, specifically the 551 uncoated black handle version, or maybe even a Ritter Grip. I know there are certainly still places to find them available, but a lot of dealers seem to have them marked as out of stock until 8/30/09. I'm just wondering if anyone knows if BM is planning more colors for the full size Griptilian, or upgrades in handles like G10, or steels other than 154CM (not counting Cabela's D2 b/c that is coated)...wondering if anything new is on the horizon along with this 8/30/09 date, or anywhere in the near future. Anyone?

Thanks!

I just picked up my Benchmade Griptilian 551 from Recon1 in Tarzana CA. I ordered it from them last week, and it came in yesterday. PM me if you want their contact info to order one. I will forward you thier contact info. Great people. They are placing a large BM order for their shelves as of today. Let me know if I can help by forwarding you info.

I don't know about upgrades, or the ritter, but there seem to be plenty of 551s at knifeworks. I have one in my wish list, matter of fact.

Benchmade has a new blade steel x15. Some what similar to Spyderco's H1, I believe. Check out Knifecenter.com.

www.cowboyknives.com is where I got my new 556 Mini-Grip.:D It was a pleasure doing business with Frank, and I recommend you visit his website today. There isn't that much on there, but he does have Benchmades.:)

Aaaaaalllllmost the lowest prices I have seen. http://workingperson.com has the absolute lowest prices I have ever seen on stuff. But unfortunately, they were out of stock. Imagine that.

Enjoy that 551!

You can't find a better folder, in my opinion.(but let's not get into who's folder is better, just take my opinion as it is)

The x15 steel is kind of intriguing. I just wish they would come out with more options already, like G10 that you don't have to pay $200+ for (sorry, Wilkins grips are kind of expensive in my book). Or more steel choices, perhaps in various runs like Spyderco does.

I have been wanting a G-10 Grip for years. If they come out with one I will buy a couple of them in each configuration. For me, a
G-10 Grip is the perfect EDC. I used to be a big Benchmade fan back in the day. Now, other than the Grip, not so much.

If they add a G-10 Grip and bring back the AFCK...I'll start buying from them again.

Preach on brother , I couldn't agree more. I just didn't know if there was something I hadn't heard about in the works for the end of August shipment, some sort of update/upgrade. Didn't know if I should hold out on buying another until then...wishful thinking I guess.

I still love the Grip. When I first got one I thought the handle was fantastic...it was my first "good quality" knife. After having long since handled a lot of textured G10, the word that comes to mind for the standard Grip handles is "meh."
