I have a griptilian 550 that my clip seems to lack retention in my pocket. I thought my old clip was bent or something because the only place it touches the handle is where the screws are. I got a new clip from benchmade it is the same way. It is loose the one of my kids who is 20 months can take it out of my pocket with no problem. Has snyone elsr noticed this?

You sometimes have to get basically 2 pair of pliers, wrap some tape around the clip to prevent scratching and very lightly bend 1 plier down to make the clip hold a little tighter, and then reattach the clip to check the grip and it may need a few adjustments to get it the way you want. I do this to most of my Benchmades to get the grip just the way I want.

I wasn't too happy with the retention of my mini, but I was able to bend it with my bare hand (after removing it) and now its perfect.

Just be careful in bending it because others have had issues in the past with them breaking. If it does break, call BM and they will send you a new one.

The other thing about clip retention on the Griptilian is the clip only slightly contacts the scales no matter how much you bend it. What I mean is the round shape of the scales only allows the very edge of the clip to touch the scale so there is very little friction. When I first noticed this I thought it was just mine, but after owning a few Grips and talking to many others with them it is just how the design is. I wish they would of thought it out better and made a raised portion on the scale to correct this.

Go look at your Grip and you will see what I mean.
