I have a "stock" Griptillian with the FRN scales. I really like the way the knife fits in my hand -- it is my cheapest Benchmade (i.e. least expensive), but rapidly becoming my favorite.
It could really be something with custom grips (so I think). I hear a lot about this fellow Keyman and have seen some random samples of his work by stumbling around the forums. What I haven't figured out is how to get hold of him. Any help would be appreciated.
Also other recommendations for grips (scales). I see nice work by DOAT and maybe there are other options to consider.
So many choices. I lean more towards utility and a bit of "tooth" in the surface (like aggressive peel ply G10). I've seen some nice faded green what look like Micarta that could be just the thing ...
Fancy inlay and polished grips would not be the thing. I do have a weakness for carbon fiber, but we are caving in to flash and dazzle now......
Not that beauty doesn't have its place, that is just not the current assignment.
