Feedback? Wear rate? Overall? 3mm of a diamond-resin matrix per side (or is it 3mm total?) bonded to an aluminum plate sounds like a dream product at its price...

It is available in 100/240 grit only currently. 72 USD + shipping sounds like a good deal. I guess it really only makes sense on high resistant steels and then you only need diamonds for the few final steps ("to shape the carbides"?)- so the 1200/2000 grit maybe still too large in grit ?

I have all the grits in 6 x 1 format. Feedback is average; the lower grit feels like a carborundum stone, the higher grit feels very smooth, like a ceramic stone. It cuts very fast, maybe faster than a DMT of an equivalent grit and almost no wear is observed after 5 knives sharpening.

I feel that the key advantage is that I am able to make it cut faster by applying more pressure to the stone without damaging it compared to the usual plated diamond stones.

Main disadvantage is that it loads up pretty quickly even I sharpen with water. Loading is similar to spyderco stones.

Do the stones produce a slurry as the binder is broken down upon abrasive release?

I have the Venev bonded diamond stones for kme. I like them better than the kme diamond stones. The grit is not comparable to the dmt. For instance the f80 is far more fine than the 140grit from kme by a lot.

In any case big brown guy likes them alot too. He mentioned on his YouTube channel this is going to be the next big trend in sharpening stones due to its more affordable cost. Check his video out, he gets really great results says its more crisp. Forget his name on the forums or I'd tag him as he's used the bench stones.

I just got a Hapstone along with the Venev stones, I'm very excited to see how they are. I love the Spyderco ceramics but the loading is incredibly annoying, I think I'll stick with Michael Christy's advice and use a nagura stone on the Venev's to unload the stones quickly.

Sounds like this particular line of stones is best suited for sharpening under running water...

should he be using that much force with these? i mean i have done that with mine but not the kme stones, those i didnt want to use too much force with at all.

I don't see how pressure could cause an issue since the diamonds can't be ripped out like on a DMT stone.
