Gritomatic Base Diamond Set

Can anyone comment on the base diamond set on gritomatic for the edge pro that is electroplated coating. I'm looking at the M3 and trying to decide on this set plus a diamond matrix for finishing or a Venev 1200 for finishing. Either that or going with Boride T2 5 stone set.
