ok guys so overtime i clean my sebenza it gets a little gritty and after i open and close it like 50times the grittiness goes away i have a feeling its the bushing cause there are circle marks all around it but I'm not sure.. What do you guys think it is? thanks

I find any sort of grittyness is always contamination on the detent ball track. To test this, wedge a small peice of wood (chopstick works great) or something into the gap in the handle to take the tension off the lockbar (lift it slightly off the blade). With the lockbar not touching the blade, if it is still gritty, I suppose it is the pivot. In my experience it is almost always the detent ball and detent track that are the source of the issue.

Ok lets say its from the detent why does the grittiness go away after little of opening and closing the knife?

The track gets wiped clean by the action of the ball sliding along after several openings. If you cut an orange and let the juice dry on the detent track, you will find the same thing. Sometimes running the knife under water helps. One nice thing about S35VN......never rusts in my experience

Oh so your saying there is dirt on the detent track?

i just cleaned the detent track and put it back together and it maid it worst. ;(

That's s clue you are on the right track. If all you did was clean the track and it's worse, that indicates the track is the factor. Try cleaning it, and the ball (important) with something else. Put some hand soap on it and run it under warm water. That works for me. You don't need to disassemble. Good luck!

probably good idea to run under water while opening and closing the blade to move the detent ball...

ok so when i pinch the washers and bushing on the knife and turn the knife little i feel the gritty part it got to be the bushing..

Was this the same knife you had problems with? The one which you sanded the bushing?

Then as what I have mentioned before. It is probably the busing. Send it in to CRK to have it fixed. That'll solve the problem you've been having for more than a month now...

Remember the blade is sand blasted satin so they won't touch the knife unless i get a new blade.

Have you tired calling them and ask? They might fix it but for a fee... I'd rather have them fix it and pay for the repairs that suffer that gritty problem... :D

I'm worried now that the bushing maid circle marks inside the blade and when i get a new bushing it will still be gritty....
