I just bought this knife for $35. When I got back to the car and opened it it was very gritty. I dropped some oil in it but it only worked for a couple of seconds. I really wanna get it fixed. Anyone have some simple remedys?

Take the knife apart and clean the bushings with alcohol. dry them off well then apply a small amount of lubericant to them. maybe wait for someone with more experience to post before listening to me though:)

that would be the best option if the E3 had a screw construction. now you have two options : give it a bath in hot soapy water while opening/closing, rinse, flush with WD40. if this isn't enough send it to spyderco.

That is the ticket.

Blast it with water or take it apart. There's probably crap inside. Then heat it up with a hair dryer to dry it. Let it cool off then add oil.

just gotta clean it. hold it under the faucet with warm water running and cycle the blade. maybe take a qtip or toothpick and scrape that gunk out. then dry it (i put a fan blowing inside the handle) and oil it while making sure to cycle the knife some more. use wd40 or olive oil and set it aside to dry, maybe under fan overnight.

i usually clean several knives at a time
