Here are some photos of a GEC #54 Big Jack in Burnt Grizzly Cut Bone(my favorite!) that I received yesterday. It's an early Christmas present from my wife. I usually shoot photos of my knives in more rustic, folksy settings, but I decided to experiment with some transparent glass. My roses don't seem to know it's winter, but they seem fitting with the reds and greens of Christmas. Guess the 81º temperature is forcing them into bloom. I do miss the snow a little during the holidays.
The fit and finish on this knife is probably the cleanest and tightest of my 5 GEC knives. My only complaint is the butter knife edge. I mean absolutely zero cutting out of the box. Part of the edge didn't even come to a "V" at all. A quick reprofile and session on my Sharpmaker made it shaving sharp in no time. The spring on the clip blade is a serious NAIL BUSTER!
Once again Tom at August Moon Cutlery came through with excellent customer service. Best online knife buying experiences I've ever had.
