Has anyone had any experience with this machine?

It seems to be a 1HP grinder with a 2"X72" belt on one side. It comes with a 5" contact wheel (although it looks like an 8" would fit), and a platen. It does not have a tilting table, although that would be easy enough to create. At $275 plus $40 shipping it seems like a good deal even if it only lasts a couple of years. That would get me started. When I know more about what I want, I can design a machine with all the bells & whistles I need.

Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.

Thanks, Bob Couture

I've got the Grizzly in question. It's cheap and grinds a good blade. See the "which grinder?" post on July 8th (last post) in this forum. The grizzly is discussed with some others.

The Grizzly does have an annoying bounce that can be fixed with a small block of wood (again see the "which grinder?" post) but other than that... and oh yea, the graphite crap on the platten it's a good deal.

One thing the Grizzly does not do well without much effort is get a crisp plunge line next to the choil. This is probably related to the tracking and I have yet to find a good solution.

I've got a Grizzly also. I like it alot. The was a pain to put together because of crappy instuctions. But other than that I like it. I've yet to have any big problems with it.

Sincerely,
Adam
