Hey guys,
I'm planning on starting to tinker with making my own knives. I found the Grizzly unit which uses 2x72 belts for a little over $400 delivered. That's a whole lot cheaper than any of the other brands. Does anyone have any experience using this machine? Grizzly has a good reputation, I just want to make sure I'm getting something suitable to the task.
Thanks!

Cool! Thanks for the info. It is WAY cheaper than the other grinders. So much so, that I was apprehensive about the purchase. It seems to be capable of hollow grinding on the 8 inch drive wheel and it has a platen for flat grinding. That seems to be enough to get started. The other grinders have attachments to make hollow grinding easier, but at 4 time the price, I think I'll get by with the grizzly.
:)

Might want to consider getting the 10" wheel upgrade if you are buying this to primarily hollow grind. It will allow you a lot more room for your left hand to avoid being constantly hampered by the motor casing.
