The D-D work rest for the Grizzly G1015 grinder may be the greatest thing since sliced bread. It is easy to install, heavy duty and high quality. It has tamed my Grizzly and made it more user friendly. I highly recommend it to anyone using the grizzly.

Don Dentz make grinding jigs among other things... super good quality stuff (I have one) but much more limiting than freehanding (I've tried several grinds - freehanding is much easier imho). But glad it's helping Charly!

Like Josh said its a work rest made by Don Dentz. http://www.ebay.com/itm/D-D-Work-Rest-for-Grizzly-G1015-2-x-72-Knife-Belt-Grinder-with-Upgrade-Mount/262866913592?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D41669%26meid%3Dffc97cb941404aa6813bce3afd0e57bf%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D262828691136 Its a major improvement over the stock table that comes with the grizzly.

I'm not nearly as steady handed as I used to be, so I've been experimenting with the Tim Hancock grinding method https://youtu.be/MAgD3bvsY1o and this work rest with the large table is a big help.

I may get a grizzly as a 2nd grinder. I believe the grinder prices are like real estate at this point. way too expensive.

On the contrary, there are a few inexpensive models and lots more models out than there were even just 2-3 years ago.
Check out the GIB and the Oregon blade maker.
