Hello everyone...

One of my machinist buddies just bought a Grizzly grinder. I told him that I seen pics inside this forum a few years ago that were heavily modified with braces to help stabilize it. I ran a search and found the threads but all the pics have been taken down by the authors. Anyone have sed pics still on there hard drive? Can anyone post a few so I can print them out for my buddy?

Paul,

Here are some pics of a couple that I did. I hope they help.

This machine was driven by a pulley on the far left end og the shaft:

and a different machine with a step pulley in the center of the shaft:

Thanks for taking the time to post the pics and links fellas, I really appreciate it.

Rob, LOVE that horizontal sander! Maybe Santa will get me one for Christmas.

Paul,
I brace mine, here's a pic of the brace (note: before the VS mod
the brace was clamped to the top of the motor with a large hose clamp):

Heres 3 simple mods .I added the spring tensioner at the back to dampen the belt slap. Works fine.
Also bolted a 1/4 inch by 1 3/4 x 8 to the platen for flat grinding.
Take Care
