Grizzly sanding belts?

has anyone tried any of the Grizzly sanding belts?

I have a 2x42 sander and they have aluminum oxide belts for $0.90 - $1.00 a piece but you have to buy 10 at a time. I'm just starting so I'm wondering if they would be worth my time?

I tried some many years ago. When I tried to grind metal, the grit just flew off the belts. I never tried them again, so I don't know if they ever improved.
