I live about 25 miles from Grizzly's corprate office and just got back from their annual dent and scratch sale. Got a paint pot to use in stabilizing for $35 as it was missing some wheels. LOL got a complete set of 4 flute HSS end mills from 1/8 to 3/4 for $15 cause the 3/4 inch mill was trash, a dust collector for $50 that viberates, a ceiling mount air cleaner for $50, a slow speed wet grinder for $50 because the switch housing is broken. 6 casters with 10 inch pneumatic tires for $5 apiece. I also picked up a 11 x 26" light duty lathe for $800 because the crate had gave way and the steady rest was broken and the little tool box was also missing along with the live center and the change gears for the feed screw. The rep said I can get the complete box for about a hundred. I spend almost $1400 and am a happy camper. If you are near one of their sites and can make it to a sale do it. Get there early ( I guess people camped out from yesterday evening) Band saws, routers, sanders, drill presses, sandblasters, anything and everything they sell was there and hundreds of guys on a feeding frenzy.

Now I have to tell momma about our good luck:rolleyes:

can i adopt her so i can get what i want too? :D im a well mannered guy. im also house broken if that helps out.

LOL, Actually we may be looking to adopt, I plan on retiring in a few more years. I need time and help to finish my 38 foot cruiser that is in my back yard then help to built a place on my land on an island in southeast Alaska. I am not rich and have mostly invested in tools and stuff. I have way more than enough commercial sea time to get my 100ton masters papers and want to spend my waining years giving people personnalized summer vacations of the inland seas of Southeast Alaska and pounding out knives for the tourist traps in Ketchican in the winter. I used to commercial fish out of Ketchican Alaska and love it there. Maybe looking for a young man to help out with it all.

By the way the dust collectors bad motor is a case of a bad starting capasitor, cheap fix. The air filtration systems vibration was cured by working with the fans balance and tititening up the mounting bolts, I am remounting the swithch for the slow wheel grinder in another box and it works great as the broken switch box was its only problem. Monday I will call the support people to get a line on the box of accesories for the lathe. Today I will weld up the broken casting on the steady rest and follow rest. Yes you can weld up cast iron.

By the way they had a ton of the 12" 1h tefc dick sanders with wobbly disks. I hand spun a few to check them out and most had a minimium amount of runout. (Less than 1/8") I am sure you could easily fix one by turnin it on and using a sharp tool or a grinder to shave it true. They were all about $50. I already got a good 9" and had already over spent my limit so didn't get one. I did get a slightly used 8" 3500 rpm bench grinder for $18 so I will be up grading one of my buffers from a 6"

well when you get ready to work on it just pay for a plan ticket, fix me a place to sleep, and i will come up there and give you a hand with the boat. as im sure you know im a fisherman and know the value of a good boat. and you also know i know how to use power tools and hand tools. :D just say the word and im there. as long as i can take off from work or something too. HEHE!! :D

I really, REALLY wanted to go... I could drive up to the Bellingham, WA, store in about 3 hours. BUT!!! It was the exact same week-end as Blade.

I think it was the same thing two years ago when I was going to go too! Dang it!

Good deals you got, you gotta be stoked! :D

Oh, yea I am a happy camper. I will be there again next year only earlier.

Sounds like you did great at the big show and really made a showing. Congratulations on a great job. Anyway a guy could come over that way some time and look over your operation and talk knives?????? Please
