Grohmann #1 / #2 Reviews?

I'm considering one of these for camp and camp-cooking use. Cutting rope, making tinder/shavings, a tiny bit of chopping (like, chopping twigs off of branches for kindling), filleting fish, slicing vegetables, etc. Thoughts?
 
Field dressed my first mule deer with one, forty+ years ago. Lost it, got another with the military style sheath, with a flap and stud. Mine's in carbon steel, something close to1080, very tough, takes and holds an excellent edge. There's one on display at New York's Museum of Modern Art. Unique design, excellent bushcraft knife. I keep mine in the picnic kit these days.
 
I have used a #1 quite a bit for fishing/hunting and hiking. Not a knife I would choose for a dedicated fire-making knife, but for all other tasks it was great. Very light, nice blade design for most anything. They are kind of like the Terava knives in that they may lack ‘pizzaz’ but are pretty great.
 
I've got six Grohmann knives and they're a good design. The #1 and #2 give you a decent budget belt knife and good ergonomics that's very light weight. The #1 and #4 are the ones I use the most. I gave a #2 carbon to someone on a ranch and they like it as a handy belt knife that doesn't get in their way when they're not using it. With all the high speed steel options out there these days, it's a shame they're not moving in that direction with their stainless steel, although in some cases it's better for knife makers to stick with something they have a lifetime of experience working with than jumping on a bunch of new steels. Their carbon steel versions are the ones most recommended. They've also got decent handle material options (rosewood, micarta, stag, and buffalo horn).
