I've been wondering what people think of the Grohmann #4 survival knife as a good hunting or camping blade. You can't buy them in a store hardly and I would like to get my hands on one before i actually buy the thing or at least get some feedback on the quality of the blade.

I have one and give it high marks. It is very well designed in your hand it feels perfect. It is a nice size and holds a edge pretty good. It is easy to sharpen and
is pleasing to the eye. The sheath sucks because every time you draw it you will cut the sheath. But I believe you can get a Kydex sheath through there website on special order and even some exotic steels. All and all for the price I believe it is great value and you will not be disappointed.

Cheers from the North

do you know of a place to get a custom leather sheath, cuz the sheath was one of my concerns on the grohmann

Also, check out if you want to get a kit, you can customize it yourself, although I have never done that. I have a #4 but have never used it, but I know you can get carbon steel or flat grinds if you want something other than stainless. I do not know if the kit comes in carbon steel.

Hey Guys....

I don't think Grohmann stocks the Kydex sheaths for the R4.

I make all the kydex sheaths for Grohmann and doubt they have any left..
Feel free to drop me a note if you have a need..
