Hello all. Would like to get opinions from owners of Grohmann knives.
I am particulary interested in the #3 flat ground.

The only steel designation in reference to their stainless steel blades that I can find is that it is a german stainless. Since I do not know what that is technically, I need opinions of their stainless steel--edge holding, ease of sharpening, etc. and etc.

Just totally forgot about the search function. Anyway, I think I found what I needed. Big D1

I don;t have the flat ground version, Hoodoo does though. My saber ground model I have carried for the past three years. It stays sharp, is comfortsble in my hands , and compact to carry , no matter what i,m doing or asking of it. Mine is the SS version, I,m not sure of the designation of it, but it rocks on stain resistance, and edge holding. I see a flat ground in the future too

I believe that the German-made stainless that Grohmann uses in their fixed blades is 440A. In their literature, Grohmann refers to it's German stainless by some German industry number, but I'm pretty sure that it's 440A.
