Grohmann - Slightly Bent Blade

Hi all. This is a first post about my first fixed blade knife, so be gentle :-)

I ordered a Grohmann #2SF for an upcoming trip. My use is a smallish, general-purpose camp knife, maybe cleaning trout, etc. It arrived, however, with a slightly bent blade. The blade deflects to the side approximately 1-2mm from the handle to the tip. It is also ever so slightly twisted.

Question is: Should I care? I doubt it's enough of a problem to really be noticable from a functionality standpoint, but it is nevertheless kind of annoying to me. I've contacted Grohmann, sent pictures, and they've offered to replace it. They're not making it super-easy, however, and I'd have to pay to ship it back, etc.

Thoughts?

Alternate knife suggestions in the $50-70ish range?

Many thanks in advance!
Michael

from what i've heard about grohmann knives they are excellant knives for the money. If it were me i'd send it back and let them exchange it, even if the defect is slight it's the principle of the thing when you buy a new product it should be right. there are a bunch of small fixed blades in that price range and lower if you look. just a short list to check
the rat 3 rom ontario
smaller buck fixed blade knives
Ag russell has several fixed blades in that range
an american made schrade sharpfinger
well that should get you started. good luck on your grohmann i hope it works out, btw if you get tired of it put it up for trade on the forum they are pretty popular. ahgar

It is defective and the problem is theirs, you should not be out more money to get what you should have recieved in the first place. They should reimburse you for any shipping costs on your part.
