Hey Folks! First off, I’m new here to the forums. I am getting married in a few months and am going to give knives for my wedding party’s gift. I would love to do something unique and custom, but cost is a factor. I need 10. Budget is $100-$150 a knife. As of now I’m planning on engraved Buck 113s from their “custom” shop. No fancy handles, just engraving. I have had one for years. Its a handsome, classic knife.

Before I click buy, I thought I would come here to see if anyone knows of a maker who could get to that price point. I know it might be unreasonable and I’m not trying to devalue anyone’s skills or hard work. Just thought I would ask/throw it out there before buying from one of the big guys. Or, just other suggestions that are not one of the major manufacturers.

Basically, I’d love opinions. Thank you!

A lot of the handmade knives in the $100 range will be thick ground with a lot of amateur features and errors thrown in, not to mention that they won’t be the same across the board with a lot of inconsistency so I wouldn’t bet on getting 10 you’re happy with. A “few months” is a very short time for an order like this as well. (Don’t order Pakistani shit knives either!!)

You’re much better off going with your Buck idea at this time, don’t delay it any longer, you’re going to have enough to worry about as the time gets closer. I have a couple of 113’s and they’ll make a great gift.

I echo the sentiments here. Buck makes a quality piece with a great warranty at a reasonable price. The Ranger is a beautiful small knife, I don’t think you can go wrong. Stick with the devil you know. Congratulations on your wedding!

A co worker of mine did kershaw leeks for his wedding party recently. I thought that was pretty sweet.

Congratulations on taking the plunge!

Also, I’m available to be in weddings when they’re handing out knives!

SAK bantam with their names on the knife.

Then years later they use the knife to cut tape for boxes after your divorce.

I've done this. Knife lasted longer than they did. Something about her leaving him for a better looking rich dude.

Benchmade propers engraved by dlt will run you about $170 per, I think they give bulk discounts. Fantastic slip joint, I've given a couple to folks who mean a lot to me, they have been extremely well received.

Congrats OP, forget the naysayers, you get out of marriage what you put in. I piss off my wife plenty, but she knows I'm not going anywhere, and that I will go to the matt for the family every time. Remember, it isn't the love you receive that's important, it's the love you give that completes you.

Let me know if you need another goomsman…

I think your Buck plan is a solid one. Unless your bridal party is really into knives, it’s all about the gesture, right? I gave my groomsmen Case peanuts. I think only one ever carries it. My dad is looking to replace the one he lost… 🙄

Nice gift, I gave my guys canvas 12 pack coolers with their names on them, also to my dad and fil. They have all used them frequently, some until failure 😂

Oh, I also had them drink for free and comped part of their rooms at the resort(driving distance destination wedding at lake of the Ozarks).
