Are there any knives like the Groove that are available in versions for left handed people?

My wife has a Groove Tanto and is left handed. After swapping the clip and experimenting a bit, she tells me there's simply no way to adjust the clip so it works well.

If the clip could be mounted so it was tip up, but on the opposite side as it is currently drilled, that would be best. To really make the knife best for someone left handed, the lock that holds the blade open would need to be on the opposite side so their left thumb could push on the it to unlock the blade and allow it to be folded.

Most all of the Kershaw line is drilled on one side only. The only exception I can think of right off is the Boa, as some are drilled and tapped for LH tip up. The ZT line has LH capabilities, but an 8 ounce tank of a folder might not be what your wife would like to lug around!

Contact Steve here and ask. He does great work, and has done many modifications on Kershaws.

The RAM can be carried tip-up left hand and tip down on the normal side (good for lefties). The lock is easy to use with an index or middle finger, perhaps better than the thumb.

I knew I'd miss one or two...thanks!

Definitely contact Steve, like Brad said. His work is very, very good:thumbup:

No disappointments that I've ever heard of.

Get your wife a RAM. She will thank you for it.
Just ask her which color she prefers. ;)
Get both. You'll want one after handling hers.

I sometimes carry Kershaw's right-handed knives in my left front pocket, but make sure the pocketclip is set for righty tip-down. It's fairly similar to lefty tip-down. Was carrying my SG-2 Blur that way today and other than a manager giving me crap about it in the break room, it's actual use and carriage was no problem. If that's not acceptable, Mr. Rice is quite precise.

svrider3 and firebert,

Please stop that. The temptation, it builds, and I already have an External Toggle and ZT0500. Oh yes, the External Toggle has ambidextrous carry, an ambidextrous lock, and is fun to flick open and closed when not actually using.
