Sorry guys but I got 1 quick question is the groove a liner, or frame lock? GPKnives says frame, NG says liner.
And are there any sprint runs w/ different steels, or anything?
Thanks,
Steven

Kershaw's own web site says frame lock. Its got a g-10 overlay so it probably looks like a liner lock. Here's the specs from http://www.kershawknives.com/productdetails.php?id=381:

Description:
The machined blade is made of Sandvik 13C26 for durability, hardness, and excellent corrosion and wear resistance. The handle is 410 stainless steel with G-10 overlays that provide for an extra-secure grip. The Groove's one-handed, index-finger opening design makes it smooth and the system has a unique build up of pressure and then pops open for easy deployment for both left and right-handed customers. There's also a secure frame lock when the blade is open. A removable pocket that can be reversed for tip up or tip down carry is also attached.

Designed by custom knife maker RJ Martin, the Groove is characterized by a unique 3-D machined blade with a striated pattern. It also features a dramatic abstract handle that is a signature Martin design.

According to the '07 Kershaw catalog, the Groove is a frame-lock.

I have a Groove and I would say it's a frame lock that looks like a liner lock.

yeah... the G10 is a smaller onlay to the stainless frame. If the G10 were the same profile as the stainless (covering the whole handle) then the stainless would become the liner. But it doesn't and is functionally decorative... so, the stainless is the frame of the knife, making it a frame lock. Another way to look at it is that a liner is a liner to the frame of a knife. In this case, is the stainless lock portion just a liner to the G10??? easy answer... nope.

Frame lock, just as Oregonedge described above. I just got one, and the flipper is every bit as fast, if not faster, that any of the SpeedSafe's I own. You won't regret getting one!

i know i want to get one soon. the rainbow one especially. kinda weird seeing the lock the way it is with the scale covering it.

It is a frame lock with overscales.

Ditto... it is actually the fastest, smoothest flipper action I've experienced. Custom or production. Sorry Bogi :)

offset, before you buy, go look at both in person. While the Rainbow was very nice and something that caught your attention, the look of the brushed grooved blade and exposed SS handle, combined with the G-10 makes for the nicest looking knife I've ever seen. Looks all business with a hint of gentleman...I wouldn't hesitate to carry this one in my suit pants pocket, or whip it out at a meeting if someone needed a knife for whatever reason.
