Well, it seems like the groundhogs in my neighborhood have sworn off of condoms and birth control, and are out of control. They're in the trees, terrorizing the garden, I saw one the other day chasing cattle away from its burrow!

I know the way to dispose of them, and have been having some fun and improving my aim. But I just wanted to know. My father said groundhogs have some of the toughest hides on this planet. Are they worth skinning and eating, or is it just too much hassle. Any ideas?

Watch out for the fleas, please.

I know they drive very angry.:D

When I was a kid I ate them a couple of times at a neighbor's house. They were pretty good---tender, beef-like, and not at all gamey. I think the same cautions are needed in preparation as with rabbits, because they are also carrier of rabbit fever.

Groundhogs are pretty good eating. I've had them in a stew. There hides are similar to a squirrel, tough. They do have a unpleasant musky smell while skinning. Now I just dust them and do surgical procedures like 22-250 lobotomies and amputations. :D
