Ok, in another thread, someone told me that all knives not on their site are discontinued. How are some microholics geting 5/04 dated Amphibians?

As with most of their discontinued popular knives, this one has made a comeback, with some "improvements" if I remember correctly. I've seen a few on Bladeauction.com, and the improvements include the use of grip tape, I think, as well as a couple other things which I can't recall.

I think that it's an evil plot to keep. . .GarageBoy down. ;) :D

The SOCOM has been brought from the grave several times. . .

Right now. . .the UT6 II is hitting the streets with a redesigned handle. It is being done in the standard UT6 clip point and in a DE.

The Amphibian rebirth is pretty much the same knife. . .but a "safety" has been added, S30V blade material, the scale recesses (for the skateboard tape) are a bit deeper and the forward portion of the thumb groove edge (on the scales) have anti-slip grooves added .

Don't put any faith into their web site. It only gets updated every few years. Their CS Dept. also sucks in the area of of putiing out accurate info on their models. Cool knives though.

Thanks Wunderbar, that confuses me further. What manuals are availbe new? Mini Socom? When the re released the amphi, did they re release the manual one too?

I try and stay away from the funny screws and grip tape...yucks. Altho' the new camo patterns are quite mall-soldier-ish...

Is this "safety" a lock-open kind of thing like Extrema Ratio uses, or just a safety to prevent the auto versions from fireing unintentionally? The reason I'm asking is I just ordered a manual 'Phib.
