grunting question

I think he means the Spyderco gunting. And as far as I know, it only came with Spyderco's compression lock.

The production versions only came with compression locks, but, as shown here, there's a good chance that there was at least one prototype that had a liner lock.

Wow I thought he was talking about a diaper brand and just misposted in this subforum. :D

New and Improved Gruntings! Now with liner lock to prevent spills...

Remember: pound ratings are individual sizing, not capacity.

For that, you need the compression lock.

Its been called worse..believe me..
Grunting is OK..ROFL..

There were no other locks but compression locks.
There are no protos with anything but compression locks..my version of compression locks not Sal's-Spyderco's.The Gunting compression lock is mirror image of all other compression locks and ergonomically designed to work with gross motor action of: make a fist..
blade releases and closes in your line of vision..
other compression locks close outside line of vision and use opposing digit/thumb action or finger pinch grip to release.
It was / is another example of fundamental perspective differences in view of use.

I own all Uility and Design Patents on Gunting. It might not be a Spyderco knife anymore but that's no big deal..many others make fine production knives...It will resurface with improvements within near future.
the LapuLapu Corto is the newest member of the Gunting family made by Cherusker Messer of Germany and the production models are available in a week or so..

Thank you for asking about the Gunting..whether you like it or not..
be safe
Bram

Since you're here Bram, I don't think the thread here got a definitive answer on precisely what Hollyfeld purchased. Do you know what he got?

my appologies, no disrespect to the blade or designer. i like the knife but i saw one on ebay and no one has touched it in five days so i figured it was a knock off but i had to ask, i've been trying to snag one for a while but everytime one pops up i just sent payment for some other blade

The Spyderco versions are getting pricey these days :(

On a good note, people talk highly of the new Gunting :D

Hi Bram. I posted the initial thread about the liner-lock Gunting on the Spyderco forum. I bought it from a guy in Australia and had hoped I had an early prototype. It's starting to look like that is not the case. If you wouldn't mind, would you be willing to take a look at the thread and give any feedback on the knife (There are pics on pages one and three of the thread). Kristi at Spyderco thought the blade looked potentially authentic, but questioned the handles. Any thoughts you have would be appreciated? Thanks!
