Have been looking for a fixed blade dedicated defensive knife. Am getting ready to order the Terzuola designed M-10 (VG-10 blade) by Gryphon Knives. Does anyone have experience with this knife? Any observations will be appreciated. Thanks.

Very solid knife, comfortable in the hand and obvious quality construction. At about 120 dollars it is a fair deal.. However what really makes it special is that they come with Mike Sastre's hand fitted drawpoint sheath. Usually to have the knife fitted and have a custom sheath made is like 60 bucks or so. So if you subtract that from 120 and you are lookin at 60 bucks for the knife alone. A pretty awesome deal if you ask me

My only gripe with it is the tip is rather thin and I am pretty hard on tips so I prefer thicker tips. Just a personal preference

I have the original M10 ATS-34 from the mid '90's. I also have two of the 6" models (M30A1) also in ATS-34. IMHO they are very underrated knives. All three of mine were produced in Seki, Japan. Perfect grinds and swedges, razor sharp, just a real quality feel to them. Each knife is tested for Rockwell hardness (testing dot near the handle). My 2¢.

Thank you both for your reassurance on the quality. The sheath deal is impressive. The knife will be in reserve and with a bit of luck never used. So your well observed tip about the point should not be an obstacle, I think.
