I might be able to make a trade for a GSO 10. What I am looking for is advice from folks that have one and also have or have handled a Busse TGLB. I have 2 TGLB and might be able to swap one of them for the 10. I have never handled a 10 so figured I would ask those that have one.

Thanks

I have a first-run GSO-10 but never even handled a TGLB. Very different knives, they are. I'll take pics of mine next to a Swamp Rat Ratweiler once mine finally arrives (no shipping notice yet).

I really like my GSO-10, prefer it to my Rodent 9 for most tasks I'd put either to, though I just finished making a sheath for my thick-cut ChopHouse so that is the next contender.

An important thing to note - the TGLB is discontinued, done, ain't coming back, maybe the TGBG will return but who knows. I think a TGLBs sell for >$400 new on the exchange. The GSO-10 is being revised, and the newest design with HT is currently available for pre-order $299. If I had the funds, I'd get one to compare against the older version, but I'd need to sell a bunch of stuff first, so I hope that pre-order remains for a while yet. http://surviveknives.com/gso-10/ Some found the grooves on the older GSO-10 handle annoying, Guy removed them for his current iteration.

Thanks for the info. I have not heard from the person I was working the deal with, so I guess I won't be getting a 10 for a while.

I have both. What, specifically, are you asking?

They're totally different knives with totally different uses (to my mind.)

Of the two, I find the GSO-10 much more useful as a tool in the woods. It wasn't on The Walking Dead though. :)

Wouldn't be fair to the zombies. :D

I like my GSO-10 so much that I didn't order the new one. That could change going forward but I intend to beat on this one a good while longer before worrying about upgrading.

Thanks for all the words Brian. I was really just wanting someone's thoughts on the two. I use my knives in the woods, and so far have not run across any Zombies. Like I said I have two TGLB so if I got rid of one I would still have a spare just in case zombies showed up. I have been thinking of getting a chopper or small Axe so was just seeing how folks liked their 10 and if they had both, then which they thought was more useful.

If you need a stout little chopper, the GSO-10 is a great tool  But I wouldn't trade a TGLB for one unless there was cash coming to you as well. If you're considering a GSO-10 and can stand the wait, I'd recommend the pre-order, and sell the TGLB to fund it and something extra.
