GSO 5.1 Ugly Betty

Was anybody else as surprised as I was to be able to purchase a 5.1 Ugly Betty?
I thought that ship had sailed months ago, but I suppose once Guy decided to salvage (reduce, reuse, recycle) some of the 4.7 CFV blanks he noticed some 5.1 blanks as well and decided to make some money off the S!crap pile. I know, I know, the joke has already been made but I couldn't resist. :)
 
I think I was more surprised by the reports of some old stock GSO 5s being sold. I thought the old stock was long gone. They had vanished before I saw the link. Anybody here get one?

I only heard rumors about the 5, I never saw the listing.
Was it on the limited edition page?
Guy must really be cleaning out the odd corners of the shop.
 
You know, I'm not sure Fancier. I remember there was some chat about it in here somewhere. Maybe there's a possibility it was actually 5.1's and not 5's, or a typo? I'm sure some said '5' though, because I immediately started kicking myself for missing them :D If it's 5.1's I won't feel so bad.

Sweet! I passed on the 5's when I could have got one because the 4.7's were announced (come on 4.7's!!! :D ) I've been regretting it ever since. Were they seconds, ugly bettys, or le's?
 
They are ugly betty's and they had listed new gen 4.7's cfv and 3v, 1st gen 5's in 3v and 5.1 1st gens not sure of the steels.

So Fancier got a 5.1 Ugly Betty, Psybull got a 5 Ugly Betty...TNVOL1969 was that 5 a second or UB? Man I'm going to have to up my game.
 
Ugly Betty 5. Sorry, I just bought a second in the 2.7. I am getting confused about everything I have on order. I need to sit down and put all this in order.
 
I'll probably eventually own one of everything by accident. I'll see something on the webpage and then paypal will go Ding before my brain kicks in.
I keep saying that once my models begin shipping I won't need to buy any knives for at least a year, but realistically I probably don't have that much self control.

No problem. With all there is going on, I'm not totally clear on it all for sure :) Congrats on the scores though, and thanks for the clarification.

I did manage to hold off on another 2.7 today, it was close though :D Did they sell you a sheath for that 5.1 spear point? I'm not clear on how the Ugly Bettys are being handled (Also, sorry for monopolizing your thread man, I guess I was feeling talkative this A.M.)
 
I asked elsewhere about the UB knives and sheaths and I was told that they ship with plain black.
I don't think that the 5.1 UB was a spearpoint in the same way that the "custom" 5.1 that sold last week were.
I think that it is a standard 5.1 without the PhotoShop treatment.
With all the links and descriptions gone I'm just going to see what the postman brings me.
 
Some like the cfv 4,7 and 3v 4,7 had the black sheath. The 5 has a coyote tan sheath and I think the spearpoint was black as well [not 100% on that model though].

We just realized that we had all of the materials for them so why not? I am planning to start implementing a quarterly clean out in the workshop so things aren't sitting around in bins for a few years before we randomly find them.

They will all come with sheaths. Most were black, but I believe the old spec GSO-5s were spring FDE. I took the pages down so there wouldn't be confusion about if those would be back in stock again or not. Maybe I will get them relisted, at least until they ship out.

Heck ya, sell 'em!! Although I would love to know what's coming down the pipe! :)
