Here is the newly revised GSO-5.1. Taking a close look at user feedback, we've made the handle length more generous, improved the contouring and changed the handle profile for greater comfort and retention. We've also added a few extra jimping cutouts, so your thumb can more naturally extend and still enjoy some traction.

This makes me regret buying the old one! But at the same time, I can't wait to use my 5.1 in camping trips this summer..
guess I'll have to sell it after and get the new one!

So if all that changed was the handle then technically a leather sheath that fits the previous version of the 5.1 should still work?

Guy could you confirm that the spine will be sharp and be able to strike a ferro rod ?

Yep! These will be able to strike a ferro rod without the use of the ferro notch. Though some people still really like the efficiency of the notch.

I could go either way. I had a custom knife made and had a notch put in it because I didn't want a super sharp spine but I loved my BHK blades that had the sharpened spine. Either way works for most I think
