1. Where is the balance point on the knife? (I am not a huge fan of blade heavy knives in non choppers)
2. Are there any "new spec" gso 6s in the wild, or was the last run still "old spec"?
3. This may be a loaded question, but does anyone have a reasonable guess when the next run will be available?

Thanks all

Mach, the GSO 6 has six other models ahead of it in the production order.
I don't consider that to be a loaded question, but I expect to wait many months to a year or more for mine.
None of the current model GSO 6 knives have been produced.
It is fairly close to a 5.1 without a choil, and the balance on that knife is just about at the first handle fastener.

I'm with you mach, unless I need the knife for chopping, few things make me happier than a well balanced blade.

That picture makes me a hundredfold more excited for my pre-order 6 to arrive...oh mannnnn, the wait time is just starting to hurt

Thanks guys, based on your excellent feedback, I tried to buy one the exchange, but missed it by "that much"

I will keep an eye out for one in 3v... :D

Keep those eyes open! Do you use the Facebook? If so, search for Survive! (GSO) SK knives fans. Knives change hands a lot over there and I've seen two 6's move in the last couple weeks.

Yep, there were three GSO 6's that popped up in the last few weeks on the Facebook page. I just got mine from Clint yesterday :)

Thanks for the clarification.

Good score! I'm super interested in that model. You got it from a good guy

So far I've been very impressed with the quality of guys on the Survive! Fans FB page. It's pretty cool meeting guys from around the world who put their knives through various tasks in all kinds of environmental conditions. It's not the same with firearms, since we have much more lenient gun laws compared to many other countries. Knife guys are universal. There were some other pretty good deals that popped up like the GSO 3.5 for $100, 4.1 for $150, 6's were good prices, and there's the 5.1, 3.5, and Sagewood sheath setup that's on there now.

Thanks to all for the advice, a fellow forumite hooked me up today. The finger balance pic is what sold me. I thought about a 5.1, but I already have a 4.7 and the actual cutting edge length is not very different between the 5.1 and 4.7.

That pic makes me miss my 6's :(

You were such a big influence on me in my formative years. I'm glad you had those knives to show off and share!

That's awesome man. Glad I could help. Now you're the big name on the S!K forum and nobody knows who I am haha. All you need to do is follow my lead and grab a couple Carothers and thank me later.

Ha!

Are you a pretty quick draw on your keyboard to get your CPKs direct or did you buy them secondary?

I bought 3 of my 4 secondary. I was 2nd or 3rd on the new Field Knife so I can be pretty fast if need be. I'm definitely getting another Field Knife on the next sale, can be a great bartering chip
