Yup, already have another one for ya.
Can get the zt for 199.00 or the GT helix cf 2 tone for 300.00
Only reservation I have about the GT is the cpm154, VS the 20cv on the zt, of course the 20cv is way better for my use and uses
Just stumbled onto the GT'S literally 30min ago and they look and seem to be friggin sweet knives, just don't know how long they'll be around and how good they actually are. Any advise and options or opinions are welcome

GT is a nice knife but just leans a little too far to the tactical look for me.
That and those holes in the blade would annoy the crap out of me with the accumulation of crud.
I grabbed an 0804CF a few weeks ago and it's taken over edc duties.
Great grind on the 20CV and a perfect size.
Few little gripes, not a fan of ZT's predilection for graphics, and the lock bar is a little difficult to get a thumb on to unlock. It should have a little cutout on the presentation side but it's not a deal breaker.

I like CPM154 a lot, and wouldn't that that determine my choice. That said, I have owned a Helix and did not like it at all. The way the flipper tab was made, it was kind of difficult for me to flip. With ZT, everything is always pretty well perfect, and their warranty is exceptional. I would go ZT.

That's kind of what I suspected, knowing ZT history and knowing their customer service. Plus having a 3 to $400 hard use EDC is kind of hard to wrap my mind around

Plus with the amount of money I'm going to have I would be able to get the ZT plus a full new set of kme Gold Series stones and their lapping film set for the price of that knife roughly

I'd pick up the Guardian Tactical. I've been looking around for one on the marketplace here but they rarely come up in the version I want. They are great knives and cpm154 is a really great steel. Look at Ankersons tests. You'll see rwl34 which is the same as cpm154 but from Europe. So it competes very well vs some of these other super steels.

Plus the flipping action on those are amazing. I've handled one.

With that said... You should absolutely get a zt 0804cf. I have one and it's a favorite. That price is amazing too and it's discontinued so won't be around for long.

Many options tho, one is get the zt then save up for the gt and get one in 6-12months depending on how much of a knife addiction you have.

I have a GT (auto) and really like it but, you are not looking for and auto.
I have never handled the Helix..only seeing YouTube vids on it.
I have handled a few ZT flippers and was very impressed with them!

IMG_2861.JPG IMG_2862.JPG I have 3 ZTs, 452CF, 450 and a 562CF. I love all 3 and won't sell them. Excellent knives.
I also have a Helix and a Helix Nano.
They flip just as good as the ZTs do. Plus you can also flick them open with the hole or open slowly with the hole.
I really like having those other opening methods.
The build quality is rock solid. Action is superb and the blade steel is excellent.
Tough choice, but I'd go with the one that catches your eye. You'll have a great knife regardless which you choose.

Hey SoCal! Which GT auto did you pick up and how do you like it??
Thanks!

You all are killing me...lol
Always make it so hard, right about the time I start leaning one direction so.eone else will push me back the other way.
Btw....i will have 2 knives on me at all times, a hard use and a show off sharpness showcase.
Right now it is a contego and a 456bw, but I may just use the helix nano as a show off piece which I am considering instead of the helix

The quality of GT knives is definitely on par with ZT. If the prices were equal, I would recommend the GT as a great knife to experience. But a $100 price differential is quite significant, and for that reason alone, go ZT.

I've had 5 Guardian Tactical knives and probably 30 ZT knives.

I've gotta go with the 0804. My only complaint with it is what Barman said with disengaging the lock. It's not terribly difficult.. but could be easier.

Nice, I really think for me it comes down to what I can get with my money.
I can get more of what I need by going the zt route(knife, stones, lapping films) vs just a knives with a few bucks left over. Still need to get a pelican case for the kme as well:rolleyes:
