GTC Knives!

I hadn't heard of GTC Knives just a couple years ago. Then I came across a few photos of GTC knives here on BF and was immediately captivated. The unique grinds, excellent flow to the knife styles, high attention to F&F, and of course a really great knifemaker behind it all seemed like a winning combination. So I put my order in for what Gus (short for Gustavo) calls a small Prisma. Well, today it arrived and I was like a kid at Christmas time (close to the real thing too, given the timing).

Needless to say, Gus did an outstanding job on the knife. He got all the details right, and it will now be the star of my EDC rotation. The thing I really like about GTC knives is the signature style. They are immediately recognizable. I find that this is often the mark of a knifemaker who will develop a loyal following over the years, and I see no reason to believe otherwise for Gus.

Anyway, enough of my jabbering, here are the pictures. I've used the pictures Gus took since they are much better than anything I could do. Enjoy!

That is a pretty niffty way of integrating the scale into the framelock.

Nice looking knife, congrats!

Damn that's pretty. Are the screws in the clip triangular (I assume to match the thumbstud)?--that's quite unique

So your the one with the tip down clip. I've got a similar Prisma (tip up clip). Gus makes one of the smoothest opening folders I've seen and the sharpest. A few months ago Kim Breed did a review on GTC and concluded the Prisma was in the top 1% of knives he tested. That means it beat out 99% of his preveious knives in cutting. GTC uses his own patented pivot bearing system. It is as smooth as they come.
I just noticed yours is a downsized Prizma. I like the mosaic pin in the carbon fiber. Great folder- Good luck with it.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Yes, they are triangular, as is the screw that holds the thumbstud on. In my mind, it's that kind of attention to detail and "themed" knifemaking that really sets Gus apart.

Beautiful knife. Looks like a lot of thought went into the design. Meticulous attention to the smallest detail is evident from every angle. What a breath of fresh air in the midst of all those trendy, hideous Striders and their ilk.
