Guard less Bowie Sheath

I'm building my first Bowie to donate to the local NRA banquet to be put in the live auction. It's a 12 inch OAL knife...and I'm wondering what style sheath to make. I've only made pouch sheaths before, and I don't think that will work on a knife this big! Any suggestions, especially pictures, of what would work would be wonderful! Thank you!

If it is truly a guardless bowie, I think you'd be better served with a pouch sheath. Larger knives do quite well in a pouch also. These knives were easily 12" OAL
These were all set up for sash style carry which is sometimes better and preferred for longer knives.

For very active use, another option might be what I call a SOB sheath, (small of the back). Its bascially a large pancake, very secure for active use. Made one for this young lady and her husband in NV.

This is the husbands and the knife I made for it before I shipped it to him. Knife is 11"and change oal. Now a word of warning there is about a 2 month break in period on this type of sheath. Ya can see the wobble it puts in my belt when new.

I've not worn one of these extensively as I carry a smaller knife. However I've made a bunch and get real good feedback from the customers. I have also made these for knives including bowies with both single and double guards. Gets tricky inside with the welt but doable.

Ok, thank you guys for the help! Dave, I love how you always have so many great pictures to share:). I looked at alot of Paul Long's sheaths on Google and got a good idea of what I want to do...his work is amazing. Thank you guys again!
