excuse me for posting this here but i have to tell someone, today my guardian angel was very busy... i was on the way from vienna to graz early this morning on the highway, i droved with 70 mph as a heavy accident happenend just a few hundred meters in front of me with several cars, i had to make a decision... the road at this point was iced so i had no chance to stop before i hit the cars in front of me, so i drove into the lead plank (is it called lead plank?, steel planks that seperates the highway), well i had about a second to think about that... however i crashed with the full 70 mph into it and slided about 200 meters before the car stopped... i survived this crash without any scratch and the damage of the car is not really bad, i was able to drive the last 40 miles home with it... bad thing is, 20 cars crashed and 3 people died

... i had great luck. thank god

BladeMan,

Well I am very glad that you're O.K.!!! Sounds like a very bad day!

I think we all have guardian angels. I won't go into great detail, but when I was 15 years old I had an old model single six ruger that slipped out of a holster when I was bending over and it went off and struck me about 1/2 inch below my left nipple. To make a long story short it was a horrible experience and I have learned since (and tried to inform others) that old model 3 screw Rugers WILL go off if there is just a small amount of impact on the hammer. Please folks if you own an old model 3 screw Ruger pistol either send it to Ruger for a "New, improved modification" or leavethe chamber under the hammer empty. Fortunately it was just a .22 caliber I had the misfortune to be shot with (and believe me that was bad enough), but these guns were made in much larger, deadlier calibers. I am very pro-gun, but I also want my friends and family to own and carry a safe weapon.

Please take heed! I can tell you from experience it hurts like hell being shot!! I also have a very nasty scar from my neck to my naval to prove my point!

Thanks for your time!

thanks gene, hope you understood my post a bit, it was tricky for me to decribe this story in english and yes, this week startet very bad. i had this feeling when i woke up today that this day will suck. my tip is to stay at home in your warm bed when you have such a feeling. well i'm still shocked. thanks

It is good you are OK.

Regarding those Guardian Angels: I am sure they are out there...

I have several experiences. The latest one was in US, I had been driving for maybe 12 hours already. Crossing railroad somewhere in Nebraska, singing with my radio. After I had crossed the rails I looked into my mirror and noticed train crossing the road...

It sounds like some quick thinking and good reactions on your part made your "Guardian Angel's job a little easier today.

Give credit where credit is due? Some of the credit goes to doing the right thing at the right time.

Guns are for show. Knifes are for Pros.

I'll agree that there's someone looking out for us. If its a gaurdian angel mine must not like me very well. I've had some close calls, but never got hurt seriously. It just seems like they always happen when it will make be lok like the biggest moron ever.
I took a young horse to its first horse show, and was going to go ride it in the warm up pen to get it used to things. It had tried to buck me off several times at home and I'd always managed to ride through it without getting the ejection seat. This time there were about 50 to 100 people watching, so the horse ddoesn't wait till I'm all the way in the saddle to start bucking. instead when I'm only about halfway hangin on the side of the saddle. I got flipped all the way over its back and managed to land on my shoulder instead of my head.Nothing hurt but my pride. I did get on and ride it as soon as I caught it at the far end of the arena, and everyone had seen me fall off. Guess I can't complain to much, I am the idiot that likes breaking young horses to saddle and willing gets on the ones that buck.

Fix it right the first time, use Baling Wire !

70 miles per hour on an iced over road?

I wonder what caused the wreck!?!

thank you all and may god bless us.

the whole accident started with an insane BMW driver (they are all insane here), he thought he is god or just indestructible or something in his BMW so he overhauled another car with far over 120 mph, his car came into centrifuges as he wanted to change on the right drivingtouches and drove frontally into the noise protection wound. the overhauled car, not far behind crashed into the BMW, result, 1 died and 2 heavy wounded persons, that was the beginning, another insane, much too fast, saw a bus, which tries to evade the accident with the BMW, too late in the light fog (yeah there was a light fod too), it tore to the right, hit into the noise protection wound and drove to a still indifferent in the back, which hit into the guide bar, I was the next and i only saw that the complete motorway was blocked, i hit the brakes but it had no effect on the ice, (we had plus temperatures and only this very small part of the road was iced, why i dont know), so i used the emergency brake, struck the steering wheel to the left and crashed into the guide bar instead of the cars in front of me. 15 cars after crashed, 2 more died, several heavy wounded persons... damage of my car is + $3000 and i dont know who is gonna pay for that... have to wait...

A good example that God is with us
