I just picked up a Guardian Tactical Helix at the Bladeshow. It is the S35VN version with black G 10 handles. I did not intend on buying anything but I kept going back to it. You know how that goes...now I own it. It is a very solid feeling knife with precise fit and finish. It is very light and well balanced. Detent is perfect and it fly's open with that lovely claaack! Very smooth opening with the IKBS bearing system. Centering is perfect and there is truly o play in any direction.
I judge knives for what they are but I would prefer to like the people that produce it. I talked with all of them and it turns out that the engineer for Guardian was the former Lead engineer for Microtech. Guardians CNC guy was the lead CNC guy at Microtech. Basically, they started 6 months ago and have the two top guys from Microtech for a heck of a foundation. I'm not sure but I believe two or three of the other employees were possibly family. They give off a family vibe at least and were more than gracious in answering all my questions. Be on the lookout for them as I am sure they will be getting many positive reviews.

Dang, that thing is beautiful. You can definitely see the microtech influences, and since I refuse to support those guys, this is a great alternative. Is the lockbar steel/titanium covered in G10? Interesting choice if so, I've never seen one like it. I'd also hate to try to remove that pivot screw! Still, these guys have some serious potential. Can't wait to see what they come up with in the future.

Oh boy, here we go again. I need yet another knife! Lol im interested in knowing more about these guys. Ill have to do some research. Thanks for the mini review Dan. This knife looks pretty promising as far as quality, and if it has the same production tolerances from MT, its gunna be a home run!

Yeah, he was the lead designer and engineer so similarities are definitely there. As far as the liner I'm not sure of the type steel but I will investigate. Yes, the lockbar is covered in G10 yet it is easy to engage. I think I need their Patron model also:)

I know, Ha! I kept trying to avoid spending too much at Blade but this just had to come home. They had an Orange and black G10 version for blade and it was only 40 pieces. Hmmm? I wonder if they still have some :)

Here are a few specs I got from their site.
