Guardless Bowie with Bocote scales

Thanks for the link. I like the Bocote in some applications, and I like it on this piece. Nice work... :)

Here's a pic of what Bocote looks like after oxidation sets in. It gets a rich toffee color on the exterior. Inside, it tends to be lighter in color. This wood seems to react to sun and air like Osage Orange and Lignum Vitae. It's really easy to maintain it's polish though which makes it sweet as knife handle material. As you can see, it gets some lively figure too.
