My mini a100 bit me today, my first emerson bite. It was dull so I pulled out a sharpy and my sharp maker and went to work on it. By the time I was done on the sm it was cleanly cutting paper. The I stripped it: black, white, green red, bare leather. I was half way pleased with my results, so I put it in my pocket and headed to the po to ship some knives. I'm in the truck cutting some bubble wrap and whack, I got myself right under the finger nail. Didn't realize I was cut until blood dripped. Instead of worrying about the cut I was like he'll yea I got it sharp. I know no pics it did not happen but trust me. I went to cvs and and got some brown powder stuff and put on it. Seems to work. Lesson for today is
Emerson chisel grind+sharp maker+strop=use correct cutting techniques.

I've heard people say Emersons get scary sharp.

I know first hand, and now you do, too

Yeah, I've cut myself a couple times before with my Emersons without knowing till that red stuff starts showing.

Yes. Cut myself too plalying with my Combat Karambit. My finger just touched the blade. It was a superficial clean cut, applied pressure bleeding stopped.

lol we knife enthusiasts are a rare breed... instead of looking at cuts as bad, we see them as we are getting better and better at sharpening.

the first knife that bit me in years is a recently acquired BM 51, its my first bali and I don't think I have what it takes to get any good with one. maybe I should just sell it to fund another Emerson? LOL

reason number 1 why you should never use, used bought knives without first cleaning it with alcohol. lol

Got my first cut from my first Emerson yesterday, only the second day of having it. Went to pull it out of my pocket without paying much attention to the wave feature. The knife opened slightly, and the very tip of the blade cut my finger. Didn't feel the cut, just felt the blade hit my finger, so I checked and saw the blood.
