I call this my Piper EDC, the overall shape was inspired by the shape of sandpiper's wings. It's very light in the hand and on the belt.

Aldo 1084 smooshed into knifelike shape
Differentially Heat treated with a "hamon" showing, 3x temper
600x hand-rubbed finish
SS corby and tube
Stabilized Pollyana burl handle

7 7/8" Overall Length
3 5/8" Cutting edge
5/32" At widest tapering to 1/16" at butt

I know it looks like the tang stands proud of the handle, it's a function of angle, just noticed it when I looked at pics here.

Comments and critique are welcome.

I like it Will as it appears to be a good hard use functional knife.
The handle looks to be comfortable in hand while delivering force to the
blade/cutting edge. The racasso/choil enhances grip as well.
The broad blade and spear point offer blade strength for tough task.

And the compact design renders it a nice "back pocket" EDC.
Good job, now work on the photos.;)

That's a nice looking knife. I like the blade shape and the Ricasso makes a decent guard with that slim handle. I notice you tapered the tang also. Nice touch and I bet it balances well. At less then 8" OAL, it falls into my favorite size for a fixed blade.

Very Nice!

I especially like the handle shape.Looks comfy:)

I like it quite a lot. It reminds me of the Original Canadian Knife.
You must be partly Canadian.

Thanks for the comments. So what would people suggest for improvements?

I like it a lot. A good design for a EDC fixed blade. The tapered tang should really make it light in hand. My only concern would be the drastic butt point for a smaller handle? Seems that may have an effect on the grip for many? Maybe not?

Nice, clean work!

Vern,
Yeah, this is kinda what my design philosophy leads to. I violated it with the forward pin placement and size.

You're all being very kind, the blurry glasses will greatly improve the appearance of my knives :D

not an improvement, but I think that design would be very nice with a mortised tang and a bolster.

Sigh... it'll be later this week. :p Any particular fittings? I'm thinking copper to match some cocobolo? The butt is a little more rounded to account for the lack of support from the full tang.
