Some Becker goodness made it all the way from the US to the land down under in just over 7 days(Thanks Dale).

I am now the proud owner of my first Becker. See below as the mystery unfolds:

WHat do you think I chose as my first Becker?

I was interested to feel how heavy it was after all the feedback I heard. It actually doesn't feel that heavy. Must be the excellent blade design & weight distribution. I find it 'leans' towards the tip when in hand. The addition of micarta might change this. The grivory feels good, just conscious of it be hollow inside. I'm interested to see what the micarta is like. They even smell good! Happy I ordered them.
The sheath was tight but my thumb got used to it. Very slight movement/rattle when locked in. I prefer this instead of it being super tight & dulling the edge on drawing the knife.

Happy times ahead!
Thanks guys for convincing me to get this knife & Ethan, Becker & Ka Bar for keeping the BK2 alive.

Excellent, have you put the micarta grips on yet?

It makes the knife even better IMO....

Excellent choice on your first Becker. The BK2 is a beast, and I agree with you that it does not feel heavy in hand.

No, I haven't yet. I actually have to get the right allen key size & probably also some loctite. WHich leads me to my next question, is loctite necessary with micarta? What if you apply loctite & want to remove screws later down the track?

I was gonna guess a banana, but you already said it's a BK2 so that's no fun.

Congrats on the 2!!

use blue loctite as its much more user friendly then the red stuff.. RED is very aggressive!! you can remove the screws easily with the blue......happy trails but don't go chopping a kangaroos leg off or anything :D

take care,

Exactly! You need heat to break the red locktite. Use blue, it's anti vibration so it won't come loose.
