  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

While cleaning out the back closet, I came across "The Box". Now, you all know what "The Box" is. That's the box things go into when we no longer need them, or we don't know where to put something, but we don't want to part with it. Well, lo and behold, I found my old Buck 500 and sheath. Ah, what memories this knife brought back. Purchased new in 1991 for no other reason than that I wanted one. (Is there a better reason?) Used it for many years until I upgraded to my 110. Put it away in "The Box" and soon forgot it was even there. Well, it is now back in the fold. The sheath shows lots of wear (black dye worn from rubbing on pants and being rubbed by jacket, etc.) Blade was clean and sharp, just like the day I put her away. The only thing that I can find wrong with her is a bit of side-play in the blade. Vertical lockup is solid. Does Buck recondition old knives? I wonder if it would be worth sending it away for a bit of refreshing.

I'd contact buck or joe houser on the forum and check, i can't stand blade play. Buck seems to stand behind their products. it's worth a try.

You make me want to put a Buck up some where and forget about it. Only to find it later. Right now I am looking for a 110 that grew legs. I guess I need to send my other 110 to Joe and get it fixed.
