One of the craziest things I have ever seen...I had to tell someone.

I work in a jail and two inmates started fighting today in one of the recreation pods. A Sergeant came in and ordered both to stop fighting. One stoped and got on the ground. The other decided he wanted some of the Sergeant. The Sergeant then deployed his taser and the guy tried to duck away from the taser at the last minute. This resulted in him catching one probe in his chest and one in his nose.

So after the taser ride the guy is laying there. We were able to remove the probe in his chest but the one in his nose was for medical. Now my favorite part is I pulled my waved Mini-7B to cut the lead to the probe in his nose. This is a metal lead and the 7 cut it like butter. The inmate freaks out at seeing the 7 wave out of my pocket.

This dude just got tased and he was afraid of my 7. Anyway we took him to see medical and the probe and leed now look like a metal tampon hanging out of his nose. CRAZY.

He probably thought you were about to cut the probe out of his nose.

All the times I've been to county, never saw a CO with any weapon other than OC and ASP. SRT teams use a little more heavier stuff, still, no knives.

No way can you carry a knife on the floor. Never heard of it even in county much less state. keepem sharp

Yup, sounds bogus to me. Weapons on the floor are verboten. Can you imagine if a con got ahold of a knife during a fight?

Sounds very bogus to me. No knives carried by CO in prison. Just common sense.

Our agency does have a pocketknife policy and are carried by most officers. The only stipulation is that it is carried at the bottom of your pocket. The main purpose behind the policy is suicide prevention. Pretty sure the policy did not exist back in the early 90's and after a few inmates hung themselves it came into place.

On a side note I have become pretty proficient at waving while pulling from the bottom of the pocket.

In his position, I'd have been afraid as well. Then again, I suppose being on the receiving end of moronic abuses of power multiple times may color one's perception...

It really does suck when you have lost the right to defend yourself in any way other than words.

^^^ Truth.

This is why we all need to learn our right to a common law court. The courts as we know them operate in Admiralty Law, the law of commerce. We cannot allow anyone to have jurisdiction over us. It is very easy to do so. This what sovereignty is.

CM, if you're ever on the East Coast, let me know. We'll sit down with a peace pipe & have a chat about the legality of government.

Same courtesy will be extended to you if you come to the PRK.

Unfortunately there is a lot of truth in that. Those people give a bad name to the spirit of the job.
