Guide me through convex sharpening

For anyone who regularly does this, what do you use? Can you sharpen conventional V edges on folders like a Spyderco GB or a Benchmade Contego? What strops and compounds to you use? Basically just share your knowledge with me, it's greatly appreciated
 
Do you want to reprofile a v-edge into a convex? If so, don't bother doing it by hand, a belt sander will do this quickly.

Maintaining a convex grind/edge is pretty easy. Plenty of info on the forum if you use the search button...............

I use a leather strop with Bark River black, green, and white compounds to maintain an edge. Resharpening, depending on how I feel/what I have, I will use a stone or mousepad/sandpaper. I am no expert by any means, but I can get an edge that push cuts paper, at least.
