So I purchased this secret Guided knife sharpener from a undisclosed ***ine retailer in C**** ..

So two main issues that are a PITA ...

The slider ball .. Does not offer enough articulation and the rod binds ( tool holder for the sharpener / rod )
Also the clamp , does not clamp properly ..
I sharpened 3 knives , and the knives just flopped about ..
So binding , and the knives were not held securely .

To solve the binding issue :
I swapped out the slider ball assembly from my ****** guided knife sharpener .
And that solved the issue . So right away I got on ************* and ordered 2 replacement ball sliders so I could replace the one borrowed and have a spare .
With the articulation taken care of , I now needed to fix the jaws / clamps that hold the blade .
Now there are some rubber pads that come with the kit , but I dont plan on using those .
So I filed the clamps creating a rounded jaw , rather than a hollow one to hold the knife .
And so far that looks to work .
I think this sharpener is going to work ok for smaller knives ( Pocket Knives ) .. As what I have so far , don't really work so well on smaller knives ( Genuine Pocket knives = Under 3 inches OA )
So you may have seen this sharpener on ********* or ********* and thought ... That looks ok !
And it does look ok .. Just be aware , it might not be perfect ! & It might need some work to get it the way you want ... As is often the case with ****** stuff .. They really don't think things thru some times .. Or even bother testing ..
Or they do and just dont care about the product being NQR , and ship it out / sell it in anyway .

So apparently , I cant say where I got it , or post / share a video on it ...
Guess that means I cant do a video using the sharpener ...

There is a note at the top of the forum from Spark saying "I'm rebuilding the site search indexes, this will take a while, expect inconsistent search responses until this is done"

Also, I believe guided sharpeners are generally more money and hassle than they are worth, unless you are sharpening for pure aesthetics. Freehand is so much more convenient in my opinion.

Don't worry. You won't be censored, cancelled, or banned as soon as Elon Musk completes his acquisition of the internet.

I have 3 guided knife sharpeners now ..
1st = Dirt cheap Non Clamping ... And on medium / medium large knives it works a treat .. On small and large knives . it tends to be a PITA to use .
2nd = Medium to large knives works a treat - This one clamps the knives and holds them securely .
3rd = Pictured , I got for smaller knives ... Still need to play with it some more ...

But I find guided knife sharpeners to be a boon ! Indispensable tools ..
Want a bevel that's straight , want to re cut a bevel , need to fix a bevel ..
A guided knife sharpener with diamond cutters ( diamond stones ) is a dream come true .
Been sharpening by hand for 30 years and then some .
Sorry , no interest in going backwards .
A guided knife sharpener / diamond cutters / and a digital angle meter ...... ( The cats meow )

And lets not forget the wet stone grinder ! ( Another Meow )

Thing is , there is no right and wrong ! There is only what works for you !

I mean , there are still people driving model T- Fords , and those cars get them from A to B just like any other car ( A little differently perhaps ) .

I love my Wicked Edge 130 and will leave it to my sons. Perfect beautiful edges every time on knives, scissors, and chisels. I'll bet that my wood chisels are sharper than most people's knives.
