If you had the money and could go buy a set of 6" stones today for your guided system, what you going to get ?

I've got the Venev Industrial Diamond & the Edge Pro Diamond Matrix.
I like the way the Venev cut when I'm starting fresh on a knife, especially on a reprofile but as far as finish goes, the Edge Pro does a wonderful job with less effort in my opinion.

I would probably get a set of the Edge Pro Diamond Matrix stones since I don't have any of those yet. A set of metal bonded diamond/CBN would be a good choice as well if anyone doesn't have any.

I've got a pile of different brand stones for my EdgePro Apex but my best investment was an Atoma 140 1x6 plate.
It takes the headaches out of reprofiling for sure.

Never heard of Atoma (which doesn't mean much, what do I know). So the 140 is pretty aggressive on a reprofile huh ?

Atoma stones are Japanese diamond plates that have the diamond placed in small mounds in a pattern instead of being placed evenly over the surface. This makes them pretty aggressive. They are popular for profiling, thinning, and stone flattening for that reason.

My favorites that I have used so far are Edge Pro Matrix and Boride T2 series. Both sets polish very well; the Matrix 4k will put a mirror on your bevel.

Neither sets have a good profiler option, IMO. I use diamond plates for profiling.

I use Atoma Diamonds to reprofile, but since getting my Hapstone Premium CBN stones, I'm slowly switching to those for the entire process. They cut well without deep scratches and I go up to a 8000 which leaves a super polish if that's what I'm after, Usually I only go to 1000 which is plenty for everyday cutting.

Most of the time, I use Venev Orion stones in 150, 240, and 400 grit. I have a Poltava CBN 120 grit metallic bonded stone I will use on a heavy re-profile, but I follow it with the Vevev 150 before going to the 240.

I ordered a set of Hapstone Premium CBN 80 150 400 1000 4000 8000 but haven’t received them yet. Wondering if I need to add something like an Atoma 140 or will the Hapstone 80 & 150 take care of reprofiling chores? Thanks

Sounds to me like you are all set !
I have those as well .
For the basic stainless steel and basic nonstainless high carbon steel (thinks Case slip joints) the Norton 8000 yellow water stone is pretty impressive for final edges . For deburing one of the inexpensive Red India stones . Both are available for the Edge Pro .

If money was no object it would the the matrix stones for hard steels, the regular stones for softer steel then the Dan's black ark for final finishing then the full shaton line from gritomatic for Japanese knives
