Just wondering if there is a document/reference/book out there somewhere that has drawings and/or cross-sections of various blades.

I've seen some of the work by Wayne Goddard in the Blade Magazine publications but don't want to spend six months waiting for all the articles to come out.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mr, Ralph;

Would you say that the blade profiles are moving away from traditional stylings because of materials, marketing ploys, more people having access to high tech equipment or a general evolution of profiles

I know that I said a mouthful and the question is open to anyone that's game to have patience with a FNG

I'm still trying to get a handle (pun intended) on the simple profiles like hollow and flat grinding (no Jerry, I'm still trying to find the groove everytime

) but for sake of interest and learning, the above questions stand.

Why am I good enough to fix my mistakes, but not good enough to keep from making them in the first place?

Blade styles are evolving because knifemakers look at current or older designs and decide to expand on the ideas used before. We make the knives therefor we can make the rules and the one rule in knife design is that there are no rules, anything goes.

The only exception is the makers who do period reproductions when the work must be an exact reproduction of older styles.

Thank you one and all for the information.

The links were very helpful and the printer resolution wasn't too bad at all.
