Ladies and Gents,
This is a discussion forum. Here, we talk about traditional knives. NOT about buying them.

It's fine to mention that you bought your knife at a specific dealer member. It is uncool to announce that a specific dealer has a specific model of knife, even if that dealer is a BF Dealer Member.

Gary and I have made certain allowances for Forum knives or or a knife specific to this forum. Do not take that as an allowance to make announcements about other knives.

I imagine this post was brought about because of me to a certain extent...I appologize. :o

Sorry! I just thought people would like to know where some "rarer birds" are for sale. TC Barlows fly off the shelves, and I wanted to let other members know where to get there hands on them. I didn't mean to offend anyone or any company. I'm just trying help out other collectors :)

I think I provoked the post. I made a post about a rare barlow for sale and mentioned where to get it. I didn't have any partnership with the company, but I guess one person didn't like the post.

Eric's Knife is one of the two exceptions. The other being the official Forum Knife.

Both of those knives evolved here on this forum and are being sold "for the love of the game", rather than to make a profit. We have allowed announcements about those.

Here, here. Harumph, harumph. (Hey, I didn't get a harumph out of that guy!)

By the way, what is the Eric's knife?

why dradgummit it's the stainless cousin to this years forum knife.crogger.

Would it be possible to create a sticky at the top of the traditional section were we could have a single thread that allowed members to post about knife availability? Being a community it is very beneficial to find out from other members when hard to find knives become available. I personally find it difficult to keep up on all the SFO's and would love a place to be able to read up on what is available and were to purchase them.

Frank just to clarify. Say someone asks about where to buy a knife (e.g GEC) that some of our sponsersing dealers sell.
What would be the best way to help that fellow member? Off forum seems like the obvious choice. Thanks!

Coincidentally my first post here was asking where to get the then new Huckleberry Boys knife. :D

Exactly so. Via PM, VM, or email.
