I've got three knives available for you guys from the Guild show. I hope y'all like them. The group consists of two beautiful Hiking Buddies and a Monarch. These knives are 100% made by me with no help from the crew. The finish is taken up to 600 grit rather than our usual 400 grit finish. The tangs are all tapered. The price for each knife is $600. 1/3 of the proceeds from this sale will be donated to Super Ben. My apologies for the pictures in show lighting.

Thanks Will. I did keep one. Its a Handyman and has a minor flaw. So minor it hasn't been noticed this weekend without pointing it out. I'm happy with it though. I love that design.

 They look great Andy! I wish I could afford that Monarch right now, I've been seriously eyeballing that sweeeet thang! :)

Me too, it's speaking to me.... Worst part is thinking about how Ben's parents didn't get a choice about budgets and all that.

O.K. I'll take the Monarch. Seriously, I've been blessed with two wonderful kids, a great family and more than I can count. If we have to dig deep on this one, then then so be it.

My father has been a clown in the Shrine for many years, its touching to get to see people reach out and help not only these children but the families that are desperately in need of support. Traveling to some of the hospitals here in Texas was an eye opener as a kid. I have seen my ex's son, who had a sever leg disorder, be taken in with open arms. Her son Ethan now runs and plays like any other young man. Last we spoke he was in soccer about to try out for football.

This is a very good cause and I commend everyone helping. Sorry for the little rant, it just makes me feel good to see the good in the world.

Beautiful pieces Andy, congratulations on the guild.

I am curious about your choice of A2 as opposed to O1. The latter has been the typical steel (I think) used in your knives and is so well liked. I figured you would have used it and would be curious to know the reasoning behind you choosing A2.

Regardless of the steel selection, the knives are beautiful. Congratulations on your acceptance into the guild.

I'm just learning here so bare with me, why are these particular knives more expensive than the norm referring to guild show?

thanks swo & dedery
please make payment to Fiddleback
ncrock,
i think it was based solely on aesthetics in this case as it takes the spalting better

volfather,
these knives were made 100% by Andy from scribing the steel to sanding the handles. He spent numerous weekends in the shop making these w/o any help
hopefully he will chime in and explain it better

Cause they're special and made from unobtainium.

Great! Thank you Dedery.

Thank you NC. A2 takes the spalting more deeply than 01. Thats really the only reason.

Basically it amounts to what Vance said above. These knives are very rare among Fiddleback knives because they were made 100% by me. I won't be able to set aside weekends to do something like this very often. In fact I'm pretty sure Leah has my weekends all planned out. And Hannah's softball team is getting upset with me missing everything as well. So there have been 8000 or so Fiddlebacks to date and there are 9 of this batch with the time and the guild judging them really setting them apart. There is no imminent price ajustment in the words for our usually weekly offerings.

I personally think this is the deal of a lifetime for any member of the Fiddleback family! One reason we buy Fiddlebacks is because they have soul and personality. I've not held one of these knifes, yet, but I assume they will have a touch more charisma than the average!
